Announce the 2007 Annual Crisp Fellowships

Fellowship Description:  One or more $10,000 Awards for graduating seniors or

recent graduates of the University of Colorado at Boulder, members of Phi Beta Kappa Alpha Chapter, to support graduate education in the Liberal Arts.

 

Eligibility:  Students must be members of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and have demonstrated outstanding scholastic ability and achievement in her or his major field.  Phi Beta Kappa requires a GPA of 3.85 for 90 credit hours or 3.70 for 100 credit hours for membership.  Awardees must have been accepted into an accredited graduate program in a field of study that has been traditionally recognized by Phi Beta Kappa.  These disciplines include the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.  Those students planning to attend professional schools such as medical, dental, or law are not eligible for the Crisp Fellowship.

 

Nominations:  Each Arts and Sciences department may nominate up to two students each year.  Faculty members submitting nominations are expected to document the student’s scholarship and performance, and to provide a statement of the nominee’s potential for successful completion of graduate work and future contributions to her/his field of study.

 

Nominations must be submitted to Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Campus Box 390 by March 2, 2007.   Recipients of the Crisp Fellowships will be notified by the week of March 19, 2006.  The awards will be presented at the Phi Beta Kappa Spring Initiation April 28.
